Sourcing
Claims of fact are checked against primary sources wherever one exists: competition regulations, official club and league announcements, and broadcaster schedules. Where we rely on reporting rather than a primary document, we link to the specific article rather than a publication’s homepage, so you can check the claim yourself in one click.
Fixtures, results and league tables are supplied by TheSportsDB and refresh on a schedule rather than being typed in by hand. That keeps them current, but it also means they inherit any errors in that feed. If a table looks wrong to you, it may well be, and we would like to know.
Broadcast information
Rights deals change frequently and vary by country, so any page that tells you where to watch something carries a visible last-checked date. We describe the official, paid options accurately rather than steering around them, and we do not claim a match is free to watch somewhere when it is not.
Links to other sites
We link out often, because writing that cannot show its sources is not worth much. Most outbound links go to broadcasters, competitions, clubs and established news organisations, and they are there for your benefit rather than ours.
Where an article links to a sports streaming portal, we say so plainly rather than burying it. Such links are not affiliate links in the tracked-commission sense, they appear only where they are relevant to what the article is about, and they never replace the official broadcaster information on the same page. If a link like that is the only reason a page exists, the page should not exist, and we hold ourselves to that.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it on the page and note what changed, rather than silently editing or deleting it. Substantive corrections update the article’s modified date. Send corrections through the contact page and they will be looked at.
Bylines
SportsBlogging publishes under two bylines. Both are pen names for the site’s editorial desk rather than individual journalists, and each author page says so. We do not invent employment histories, credentials or awards, and the portraits on author pages are illustrations rather than photographs of real people. Independence
Nobody pays for favourable coverage here, and no club, broadcaster or competition has any say over what we publish or how we frame it.
